Welcome to the 43rd annual Lunar Rendezvous Festival!  The first Lunar Rendezvous Festival was held in 1965 to celebrate the rendezvous of Gemini VI and Gemini VII in space and to preserve the history and accomplishments in the space sciences area. Over the years, the Festival has grown beyond its founder’s imagination. Each year, hundreds of volunteers work together to foster community spirit and raise funds to benefit the Bay Area.  The proceeds from the Lunar Rendezvous Festival are used to support the Bay Area Museum, award college scholarships, and provide program funding for local non-profit organizations in our community.

I hope you will consider becoming a Corporate Sponsor or an In Kind Donor for the 2008 Lunar Rendezvous Festival.  Please keep in mind that Individual Sponsors are also welcome.  Sponsorship provides contributors a unique opportunity to touch the lives of many people, from all walks of life, throughout our community.  Our 2008 Corporate Sponsors and In Kind Donors receive complimentary advertising in event programs, in area newspapers and magazines, and on local television shows that will highlight Lunar Rendezvous events.  In addition, our website, www.lunarrendezvous.org  has been expanded to promote our Corporate Sponsors, Court Sponsors, In Kind Donors and the 2008 Festival Court.

Please join our fabulous team of volunteers as we pay tribute to previous decades of our great nation and “Remember When…”  The Calendar of Events the many opportunities you will have to take part of the festivities.  Our Kick-off Party will be held at the Hilton-Houston NASA Clear Lake on Sunday, April 6, 2008 beginning at 4:00 PM.  Community members and Lunar Rendezvous supporters are invited to enjoy the event and meet the 2008 Festival Court, comprised of Princesses, Lieutenants, Little Ladies in Waiting, and Pages.  In addition, all 2008 Corporate Sponsors and In Kind Donors will be recognized.
